Chanel Diana Bag Review (Replica)| vs. 2015 Reissue, Pricing, Sizes and More

When it comes to Vintage Chanel, the Diana has been long on my wishlist but I never had it front and center until recently.

After weighing my options between an Replica Knockoff preloved and a replica, I ended up going with the replica Chanel Diana Bag.

• So this is the Chanel Diana Bag, sometimes people call it the Chanel Diana Flap. 
• It’s a stunning vintage piece that was made from 1989 to 1995.

The bag became really popular when Princess Diana was photographed carrying it, and that’s where it got its name, the Diana Flap Bag.

It’s different from those Chanel bags with double straps because it only has two grommets up top, so it’s more of a single-strap bag.

A lot of people love this style because the chain is attached directly to the body of the bag, not on the flap like in other models.

• It’s got this turn-lock CC closure. 
• Inside, there’s a slip pocket and a zip pocket, and the zipper pull has this cute little Chanel charm on it.

What really drew me to this bag is its simple, rectangular construction and the super accessible flap.

It’s got such a classic and beautiful silhouette that has truly stood the test of time.

Diana reissue 2015 vs Original Diana Chanel

They stopped making the Chanel Diana bag for a long time, but in 2015, they brought back the Reissue with some updates.

I want to highlight four key differences between this Reissue version and the original Diana Flap:

1. The Reissue has two grommets on each side, so you can adjust the chain like the classic flap. The original just had one grommet per side, which means the chain is not adjustable.

2. Inside, the Reissue has an extra flap where you can put your cards, but the original Diana didn’t have it.

3. Also, there’s a small back pocket on the Reissue. The original version has no back pocket.

4. The chain on the Reissue includes a leather part, which makes it comfier on your shoulders. The original has no additional padding.

Price range of the Chanel Diana bag

Let’s talk about price. I’ve seen these bags go for around $3,500, which isn’t too crazy expensive, but they can go all the way up to $8,000, depending on where you’re buying.

It also comes down to how good the bag looks and how well it’s been kept over the last 30-plus years.

You can find pretty damaged ones to really well-maintained ones if you’re searching for them online. 

The damaged ones can go from anywhere from $2,000 to $3,000, and I’ve seen some pretty bad ones online still selling for $1,500.

why I get a replica Chanel Diana instead?

I feel like buying preloved takes a lot of time and effort, plus a bit of luck, especially with vintage bags.

As I said, the price varies wildly, and even when I thought I found a good deal, the bag’s condition wasn’t what I hoped for.

Because it’s been discontinued, this bag is kind of… well, it’s not exactly hard to find, but there definitely aren’t a lot of them out there.

And they sell fast, so you don’t really have much time to shop around and pick the best one.

For me personally, I wanted something as close to new as possible. I know it’s vintage and secondhand, so it’s not going to be brand new. 

I’m into the vintage, worn-in vibe, but I can’t justify paying for a bag that looks damaged or ruined.

It’s really tough to find a lambskin beige bag that’s in good condition without too much damage or issues with its shape.

If I want one that’s in good shape, it’s probably going to cost a lot more than I’d expect. But I didn’t want the worry of possibly messing up an expensive vintage bag myself.

So, after a lot of back and forth, I just figured a replica Chanel Diana would be way easier. Then I contacted Hannah (PCC).

Quality 10/10

Lambskin: The lambskin is so soft and smooth and has no strong smell. Smells faintly of leather up close.

Shape: Structured and sturdy shape and stands up on its own even with its heavy chain. From the sides to the bottom of the bag is one long piece of leather.

Hardware: The chain feels very heavy and luxurious to me. Not squeaky at all. The turnlock is smooth and satisfying to play with (though I try to resist).

Stitching: I don’t see any loose threads or missing stitches in the exterior or interior of my bag. It’s very well made.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this level of quality. This is my first time buying a “vintage” replica bag.

I am so happy with the quality of the leather and relieved that it is as soft as I wanted.

Accuracy 9.5/10

Lambskin: The color is a creamy milk tea beige. It’s not too yellow toned at all and is a true darker shade of beige, think milk tea! As expected the bag is a bit puffy compared with the Replica Knockoff (-0.5).

I have given up on the idea of finding a non puffy Diana since our replicas are new, but I will try to flatten the puffiness somewhat with some gentle weight.

Shape: The number of quilts matches the Replica Knockoff at four across the middle quilts. The shape looks the same as the small Replica Knockoff Diana. The size measures out to 8.5 x 5.8 x 2.8 inches, which is pretty much the same as the small Diana.

Hardware: The yellow gold tone is not too orange nor too light. The CC logo matches the Replica Knockoff one in shape and edges, and the turnlock is spot on.

Interior: Interior lining matches the exterior color and has a slip pocket and a smooth zipped pocket, with the correct circular zipper. Stamping is clean and sticker is in the correct placement.

Size options what fits inside a small Chanel Diana

The Diana bag comes in two sizes: small and medium.

The easiest way to tell which one you’re looking at in pictures is to count the diamonds along the top. If there are five diamonds, it’s a medium. Four diamonds mean it’s a small.

Compared to other Chanel bags, the medium Diana is slightly smaller than a medium classic flap. The small Diana is pretty much the same size as a small CF.

There’s a side pouch inside, and then there’s a zipper for a secondary compartment.

It’s a bag in small size, so it doesn’t hold a lot. When I’m out with it, I just bring my essentials:

• My phone
• A cardholder
• AirPods
• My keys
• A few makeup necessities

Pros and Cons of chanel diana

The pros of this Chanel Diana bag are that it’s super unique. You hardly see anyone else carrying it around. It’s a classic, truly timeless.

As for the cons, compared to the 2015 reissue, the original Diana might not be as “practical.”

Like, it doesn’t have a back pocket, and you can’t adjust the straps. But from another perspective, these are just the characteristics of the original version. 

For me, those aren’t really downsides.

Conclusion I definitely think I made the right choice

I love my Chanel Diana and it is an instant favorite. I can see myself using it a lot for running errands and special events.

Classic Flap bags are more common, and I wanted something that really stood out more.

To me, the color had to be right. I didn’t want the yellowish beige tone, so I felt like I hit the jackpot when I saw my bag.

I think the hardest part about a replica for these bags is that they are supposed to be “vintage” and at least 10-20 years old. 

So getting that worn yet pristine look to a bag might be the biggest challenge but nothing a few wears on a bag won’t fix anyways.

In real life, this Chanel Diana bag is just gorgeous, with baby soft lambskin that smells divine. 

I have worn this bag twice and I kept getting compliments on it. I just say I got it from a seller in Japan who restores vintage Chanel….

I’m being honest here when I say I have been tempted to order the caviar version because the current Replica Knockoff caviar prices are ridiculoooous.
