Neverfull Bags: Which Size Is Best for You?
You’ve probably noticed that the Neverfull MM is the version you see most often on the streets; it’s the most popular choice.
But after buying, some say the MM is way too big for everyday but too small for travel, and others feel the GM is just too huge.
Each size has its own perks and ideal uses. I’ll walk you through the details of each size and help you figure out which one will work best for you.
PM (Small)
The PM size is the smallest in the Neverfull series, perfect for those who need a lightweight and stylish bag for their everyday essentials.
Although it’s smaller, it has enough room to hold your phone, wallet, keys, and some makeup—everything you need for daily use, and still doesn’t look too bulky
Pros
- Lightweight and easy to carry around.
- Ideal for daily use and short trips.
- Its compact design works well with various outfits.
Cons
- Limited capacity; not suitable for carrying a lot of items.
- Not big enough for those who need to carry a larger laptop or items.
Capacity
- Fits a 13-inch laptop or smaller.
MM (Medium)
The MM size is the most popular Neverfull bag, sitting between the PM and GM sizes.
It offers more capacity and flexibility. It’s perfect for daily commutes, shopping, and short trips, as it can hold more items.
Pros
- Perfectly sized for everyday use.
- Can fit a laptop, documents, and other daily essentials.
- Classic look that suits a variety of occasions.
Cons
- Not enough for those who need to carry a lot of items.
- Feel a bit large and less handy than the PM in some situations.
Capacity
- Fits laptops up to 15 inches.
GM (Large)
The GM size is the largest in the Neverfull series, perfect for those who need a lot of space to carry various items.
It’s great for travel, work, and everyday use when you have a lot to carry.
Pros
- Largest capacity, suitable for long trips and work.
- Can hold a laptop, documents, clothes, and other large items.
- Classic and generous design, great for those who need to carry a lot.
Cons
- Too large for daily use.
- Can get quite heavy when fully packed, making it less convenient.
Capacity
- It can carry just about everything you need.
Even though the Neverfull MM is super popular, I went with the GM because it suits my needs better.
Ladies, remember to choose what’s right for you, not just follow the crowd.
- Think about how you’ll use the bag and what you need.
- Do you really want this bag or do you want others to see that you have it?
There’s no point in getting a bag that doesn’t suit your needs.
I use my bag as a travel companion and a daily bag for carrying lots of stuff. I bought it during college to haul my laptop, books, water bottle, and more.
After graduation, when I started working, I got an organizer for it to hold all sorts of things—keys, hand cream, lipstick, tissues—you name it. It’s just so practical.
Back then, I considered these the type of “forever” or “investment” pieces for which was worth buying authentic…but there aren’t many of these anymore.
My mom used to joke, “You can use it for school at 20, for work at 30, for baby supplies at 40, and for grocery shopping at 60.”
Well, by the time I hit 30, I was already stuffing it with diapers, toys, and all my kid’s essentials. And yep, my daughter even managed to pee on it once 😂
At first, I was leaning toward the MM size, but after trying them out, the GM just felt right for me.
- It fits all my stuff, especially when I’m traveling.
- It’s got plenty of space and just looks more relaxed and roomy.
Honestly, this bag has been through it all with me, from my college days to work life and even as a mom bag. The GM has really covered all my bases.

Neverfull Bags: Which Color?
The Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag comes in tons of classic colors and patterns, each with its own unique charm.
Whether you’re a lively college student, a chic city lady, or a sharp professional, there’s a color and pattern out there that’ll really show off your personal style.
Classic Monogram canvas
The most recognizable print from Louis Vuitton is the Monogram Canvas. It has the signature LV pattern mixed with floral motifs.
Pros
- It’s got that classic look that everyone recognizes.
- Super durable and waterproof, so it can handle any weather.
- Easy to pair with any outfit.
Cons
- It’s so classic that it might feel a bit too common at times.
- The Vachetta leather parts will get darker as you use it. (For those who don’t like it, this might look kinda dirty.)
Damier Ebene Canvas
The Damier Ebene canvas has this checkerboard pattern with dark and light brown squares. It’s more understated than the Monogram design, but just as classic.
Pros
- Understated and elegant design.
- Durable and waterproof, great for any weather.
- The dark leather parts don’t show dirt easily.
Cons
- The pattern is a bit formal, which might not suit all casual settings.
- Compared to the Monogram, it lacks some of that classic LV flair.
Damier Azur Canvas
The Damier Azur canvas is another version of the checkerboard pattern, featuring beige and light blue squares.
It’s brighter and fresher than the other designs. So it suits better for the spring and summer seasons.
Pros
- Fresh and bright design, great for spring and summer.
- Also durable and waterproof.
Cons
- Gets dirty and yellowed easily, so it needs more frequent cleaning.
- The beige can look kind of dingy when the Vachetta leather starts to darken over time.
My Choice: Monogram Canvas
My mom has always been a big Louis Vuitton fan. Her first LV bag was in the Monogram pattern too.
She told me that this design not only lasts forever but also never goes out of style. Because of her, I had no doubts about choosing the classic Monogram.
Wear and Tear on My Neverfull Bag
Here’s the wear and tear on my Neverfull bag after using it for many years.
I used it all the time, carrying my laptop, makeup bag, toiletry kit, and a change of clothes. After having a baby, it became my go-to for diapers and baby supplies.
Exterior
The Monogram canvas on the outside still looks great.
The classic LV pattern is clear and hasn’t really faded or worn out.
There are a few small wrinkles on the bottom, but you can barely see them once the bag is filled, so they don’t affect the overall look much.
Interior
The lining inside the bag is still clean, and the zippers and metal hardware are shiny and work smoothly.
There are some minor stains on the bottom, which is expected after years of use. Overall, the interior is still sturdy and durable.
Details
Straps
The Vachetta leather on the straps and edges has darkened a bit, which is normal oxidation. The leather is still strong.
The red glazing on the straps has worn off and is almost gone, but it doesn’t affect the structure or functionality of the straps.
Inner Pocket Zipper
The inner pocket zipper still works nicely, and the metal parts are shiny, though a bit faded. The leather around the zipper is also holding up well.
Metal Clasps
The metal clasps are still securely attached, but the surface has faded a bit.
Usage Experience
With a Neverfull, one can never go wrong.
It’s just such a versatile bag and really practical. I wouldn’t want to miss mine, really. Especially love them for traveling!
When you’re not using it, you can fold it flat, but it pops right back into shape when you use it.
LV Neverfull Tote Bag: Comprehensive Pros and Cons Summary
Everyone seems to have a Neverfull lol, my family, friends, and I have all used the Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag. Each of us has noticed different pros and cons while using the bag.
Pros
Classic Design:
The Monogram canvas is timeless and highly recognizable, perfect for any occasion.
Large Capacity:
The bag is spacious and can hold a lot of items.
Versatile:
It is so versatile you can use it for work, out and about, diaper bag. Great for professionals, students, and moms.
Durability:
Even after years of use, the overall structure of the bag remains in good shape.
Easy to Match:
The simple design pairs well with any outfit and suits many styles.
Cons
Straps Easily Crack:
The Vachetta leather straps are pretty thin and can crack, especially when you’re carrying a lot.
Hard to Find Items:
With its big size, it’s tough to find things when it’s full. My sister joked that the inside of my bag looked like a disaster zone.
Hard to Clean Interior:
It’s not easy to clean if the interior canvas gets pen marks/water stains/ lipstick smudges.
Sticky Pocket:
The small pocket inside can get sticky over time, especially in hot weather, so you need to keep it dry to avoid that.
Small Pouch:
The old Neverfull bags didn’t have a pouch, but the new ones come with a small detachable one.
It’s pretty tiny, just big enough for a phone and a few small items, so not super useful. If you’re buying preloved and the price is good, you don’t really need to worry about the pouch.
Low Security:
Since it’s an open-top bag, it’s not the best for security. Must have excellent pouch game to organize prevent things from falling out.
Uncomfortable Straps:
The thin straps WILL hurt if your bag is heavy (which mine somehow always is). And can leave marks on your shoulders if you wear a tank top in the summer.
If you have a larger build or wear thick winter clothes, the straps might dig into your shoulders, making it hard to carry on your shoulder, so you end up having to carry it by hand.
Weight Issue:
The bag is pretty heavy on its own, and adding items makes it even heavier. Carrying it for a long time can get uncomfortable for your shoulders.
Tips for DIY Your Neverfull Bag
The downsides of the Neverfull bag aren’t deal-breakers; we can fix them with a little DIY. One of my friends actually did an awesome job customizing hers.
Make the Straps Comfier:
Add soft shoulder pads to the straps so your shoulders don’t ache when you carry it for a long time.
Increase Security and Organization:
There is an organizer you can buy on Amazon that has an interior pocket where you zip up passports wallet. The bag is pretty deep so the rest of the things feel secure on the bottom.
Plus, it stops pen marks and water stains from messing up the bag and makes cleaning easier.
Transform the Pouch:
Add a thin strap and a decorative chain, like these, then you can transform your Neverfull pouch into a chic crossbody bag.
Leather Care:
Buy some leather care products specifically for Vachetta leather and use them regularly to keep the leather in good condition.
These simple tweaks can fix Neverfull’s issues, and you can customize the bag further based on your needs to better match how you use the bag.
Why I Decided to Try a Replica Neverfull?
When my mom would explain luxury to me when I was younger, it was always that since it’s such high quality, she will use it for years, and the service and aftercare are available for maintenance.
So she’s getting her money’s worth by spending this kinda money.
I started doing the same, and it was true for a while. The LV bags I bought 10 years ago are still in great shape.
However, I’ve noticed that her designers are holding up way better than mine even though hers are 20+ years old.
My LV bags would start tearing easily, have denim transfer after one wear?? And when I’d ask them to fix it, they’d always say they can’t and “it just gives it a worn in look.”
So why am I spending 10k (more than my mom did), and have crappy quality and get gaslit about fixing it. NOW it’s really not worth my money. So now I get the bag for the price where if it rips, I won’t be shaking with rage.
Plus, I buy replicas because I don’t want to support those greedy companies with ridiculous prices (and ever decreasing quality) anymore.
When I started being a fan, you could buy a Speedy for 400€. Now it’s more than 1000. Also the Neverfull has more than tripled in price compared to my first, and a Pochette costs more than 5 times as much as I paid for my 1st.
But now I think is just combination of being wiser with my money and I feel like authentics are the rip off this point.
The quality is going down all the time and I just don’t feel like I get even half of my money’s worth with authentic. The prices of Replica Knockoff bags have gotten insanely high, and later I found out about replicas.
It made me rethink why I was spending so much on the real ones when I could get the same high-quality leather with a replica.
Why would I do that to myself and my wallet? So maybe I’m having my own little protest for this matter by switching to replicas.😂
I won’t freak out if I get a pen stain in my Neverfull, or my Chanel boots get a scrape.
Also, I love writing reviews after I get the product and seeing how amazing it turns out. The excitement of waiting for the package to arrive and then opening it up is just so much fun.

No, the Louis Vuitton Neverfull has not been discontinued. That was a rumor from last year. If you check the LV website, you can see that the Neverfull is still available for purchase.
3. Neverfull is Out of Stock, Only Available via Waitlist?
Back in March 2023, Louis Vuitton introduced a waitlist for the Neverfull. Instead of adding it to your online cart, you have to go on a waitlist or have lengthy purchase history to get one. (I’d never thought I’d see the day the Neverfull would be on a waitlist.)
But that was last year. Now, the Neverfull is back in stock, and you can add it to your cart and buy it directly.
4. Which Neverfull Bag is Most Popular?
When the Neverfull first launched, it was only available in Louis Vuitton’s classic brown monogram canvas.
After it became a big hit, they quickly added Damier Ebene, then Damier Azur, and later, epi leather.
