Detailed Comparison Review: Replica Hermes Jypsiere 28 vs Real

Hey guys! It’s been a while since my last post. I’ve been crazy busy, but that didn’t stop me from doing a little (okay, maybe a lot of) shopping. Finally, I had some time to sit down and do a proper update for the blog.

So, I went through my bag collection and decided it was time for another round of Hermès comparisons. Today we’re looking at the Jypsiere 28 bags.

• The Replica Knockoff Jypsiere 28 is in Eoupe Clemence.
• The replica is in Rose Jaipur Clemence, I got it from PH.

Quality 10/10

The leather feels amazing, it’s thick and sturdy but also soft and bouncy, and it smells divine.

The color Rose Jaipur is this lovely, rich coral shade that has the same chameleon-like properties auth Hermès colors do (in some lights it looks red and in others, it can look mid-pink).

• Stitching is small, neat, and uniform. 
• Resin on the edges is perfectly applied, with not a single bit outside the lines; it’s sharp and even.
• Hardware feels solid and has smooth edges. 

The structure of this Hermes bag replica is amaaazing. It sits up on its own but still has that nice, relaxed slouchiness I love. It’s been pieced together perfectly and is symmetrical with lovely curves and corners.

There’s not a single flaw. The hand-stitching is neater and nicer on the rep than on my auth!

Accuracy 9.5/10

Everything is really, really close (IMO it’s earned its moniker ‘Replica Knockoff Quality’).

So, the things I’m pointing out are nitpicky, and I can only be this critical because I’ve got the same Replica Knockoff Jypsiere bag right here next to the rep. So bear that in mind!

Overall

• Both Jypsiere bags have the exact same measurements. 
• Both bags have the same number of stitches around each cut-out where the turnlock goes through.

The first small difference I noticed was that the strip of leather where the two pieces of the bag join together at the top seems a bit longer and thinner on the fake Hermes Jypsiere. -0.2

The drop lengths of straps slightly vary but this would never be call-outable since the straps are adjustable.

• The rep’s drop range is 51cm – 56cm and the authentic’s drop range is 52cm – 59cm.

But when they’re both on the second-to-last notch (which is how I wear them), the straps end at the same length.

Hardware

• Pins are the correct size, and the pearling is clearly hand-done but impeccable.
• Turnlock rotates easily but has a nice, satisfying tension to it. 
• The Hermès etching on the front hardware is flawless.

There are only two differences in the hardware, but they’re so subtle that you can only see them when the replica is scrutinized right next to an auth. 

Even then, it’s negligible. Nonetheless, I’m taking off 0.1 points for each of the following:

• The tops of the brackets are both rounded, but they’re more properly rounded on the auth; on the rep, they’re more like a rounded square. -0.1

• The D-rings that connect the clips to the crossbody strap are more rounded on the real bag, while the rotating pin in the knockoff Jypsiere is more rounded. -0.1
• The clips are 100% identical.

Interior

The interior stamp on the rep is about 5% larger and deeper than on the authentic. But this is on the inside of the bag, and not noticeable. -0.1

The interior is pretty much identical, except the open pockets on the replica don’t lie as flat, but, you know, whatever. 

• The zippered pocket is attached the same way and is the same size and shape in both, with identical zipper pulls and little ‘H’s at the end of the zipper closure.
• The chevre leather lining in the replica is just as high quality as in the authentic.

Satisfaction 10/10

Another successful purchase.

I absolutely adore this Jypsiere bag and would recommend it if you’re looking for an understated Hermès style. I’d even walk into the boutique wearing this.

I like the Rose Jaipur color paired with palladium hardware. It just struck me as the perfect combo.

Like the Birkin and Kelly, the Jypsiere can be a little cumbersome to fasten if you always close the sangles over the flap, but I just tuck the flap into the bag and it’s all good. It holds quite a lot, too!
