I’ve been spoiling myself a bit since the holidays are coming up, and I know a lot of you, like me, love to SHOP during this time of year.

With that said, I’m really excited to share my complete review of the YSL Le 5 a 7 bag!

DESIGN AND FEATURES OF Saint Laurent Le 5 a 7

The YSL Le 5 a 7 hobo bag showed up in 2021 and has been all over social media. I love the feminine and elegant designs, at the same time, it’s also chic and special.

• The Le 5 à 7 bag has a simple, classic silhouette with clean lines. It’s structured yet soft.
• There’s not much hardware on it, but the standout feature is the bold YSL logo.
• It also comes with an adjustable strap.

The closure is just a strip of leather that holds onto the YSL logo hardware and then you just loop through another little piece of leather.

That’s how the bag stays closed, also very convenient to open and close.

The YSL Le 5 a7 comes in different types of leather like smooth leather, patent leather, crocodile-embossed (all three are made of calfskin leather), and even Exotics like python, lizard, and ostrich.

It also has a ton of colorways and different metals providing a more personalized option.

Price and Value of YSL Le 5 a 7 hobo bag

I have been wanting this bag since a couple of months ago and in fact, did go to the store to see and try the bag in person. I really love the grain of the crocodile-embossed.

The current retail price for the Le 5 à 7 in smooth leather is $2,400 on Saint Laurent’s website, and the croc version I want is $2,650.

As much as I think this bag deserves a designer price tag, I honestly think $2,650 for a small shoulder bag is pushing it.

It would make more sense if it was priced under $2,000. I read on a forum that when this bag first launched, the smooth leather version was only about $1,600.

I understand prices go up as a bag gets more popular and with the usual seasonal price increases, but a $800 difference makes me feel like buying the Replica Knockoff now isn’t that worth it.

Then this beauty came up my YSL Le 5 A 7 Crocodile-embossed Hobo Bag in Noir.

• In short, I got the exact one I wanted from DD. 100% worth it.

I CAN’T WAIT to show you how wonderful and shiny it looks under the sunlight.

Even after I finished taking the pics, I was still standing there for quite a while, just staring at my pretty baby. LOL

This bag is so soft and feels so luxurious. Quality feels spot on to the original one that I held in store.

• The edges feel nice and firm, and the bag does not feel flimsy at all.
• It is well-structured and (although it looks flat) it can stand on the desk easily.

The top handle has a 20 CM (7.9 IN) drop, a very comfortable drop and it’s also adjustable.

There are three holes for you to adjust the length according to your height or the outwear.

The seller did an amazing job when replicating that croc-embossed leather.

Even looking at the grain closely and putting the photos of the Replica Knockoff Le 5 a 7 side by side to compare, my bag is as gorgeous as the real one.

• Stitching of the whole bag is nicely done as well.

What fits in Saint Laurent Le 5 à 7 Hobo bag?

I love the idea that Saint Laurent didn’t add any additional pockets or compartments into the bag to allow the maximum capacity of this small bag.

There’s only one zipped pocket inside and the zipper runs nicely.

I have to admit I am amazed by the “deceiving” size of Le 5 a 7, it actually holds much more than it looks!

• A small card holder (fits in the zipped pocket too)
• An AirPods
• A set of keys
• A small wallet
• A pair of sunglasses
• A lipstick
• A lip balm.

After all these, there is still much room inside, but you wouldn’t want to stuff anything bulky in it.

Any Cons of the YSL shoulder bag Le 5 a 7?

I do love the bag a lot and use it quite often.

The only downside of it is the open top (I know a lot of people have complained about it), like if you accidentally drop the bag on the floor, some small items like lipstick or lip balm might fall out/roll out.

So I just use one or two pouches to pack up the small items. And use it as a shoulder bag rather than carrying it by hand.

Other than that, this bag is totally a must-have!

Overall I am obsessed with this bag.

When I was in the store trying the bag, I immediately had so many outfits in my head with this bag. I knew it would be perfect for winter, or any season really.

I’m definitely excited to include this in my new bag rotation!
